Double-page folio sheet with three maps. The large map on the left side is a full map (9 x 12.5") of Turkey with north oriented to the left. It is based on the cartography of Gastaldi/Forlani (1564). It provides excellent detail and includes Crete and Cyprus. The upper right side of the sheet contains a map of northern Egypt (9 x 7") showing the Nile River delta that is based after Forlani's map of 1566. Beneath the map of Egypt is a beautifully engraved map showing the vicinity of Tunis (9 x 5.5") that features a fully engraved sea filled with many oared ships. Folio sheet is 22 x 17.2" with Latin text on verso.
References: Van den Broecke #174.
All maps with fine color and impression. The sheet has very wide margins and watermarks. Toning along centerfold from backstrap remnants and a little soiling. Map images are very good to fine.
