"[Lot of 2] Salin die namhaffte Statt in Burgund… [and] Von der Statt Avinion", Munster, Sebastian
Period: 1560 (circa)
Color: Hand Color
First (15 x 9.5") is a double-page woodblock view of the medieval city of Salin-les-Bains with the castle (now called Fort Belin) on the hill overlooking the city. Engraved by Rudolf Manuel Deutsch with his initials at lower left and a coat of arms. Second (5 x 3.3") is a small view of Avignon on a single sheet of text. Both from a German edition.
Pleasant color in the correct period style. Minor toning and foxing in text and a couple of unobtrusive spots in images.
