This lot contains a nice map (15.5 x 9.8") detailing topography, settlement, roads, and early railroads with a plan of Washington and Georgetown inset at upper left. The views (approximately 6 x 5.5") are fine steel engravings by some of the most prominent artists of the period. Includes 6 of Virginia and 3 of Baltimore: Harpers Ferry; Episcopal Church at Richmond, Virginia; Capitol of Virginia, Richmond; University of Virginia, Charlottesville; Shannondale Springs Virginia; Natural Bridge, Virginia; Battle Monument, Baltimore; Interior of the Catholic Cathedral, Baltimore; and Interior of the Unitarian Church, Baltimore.
