Strongly engraved map of China that includes the islands of Hainan and Formosa (Taiwan), the Korean peninsula and western Japan. The cartography is derived from the earlier Blaeu model. A superb, large title cartouche features Jesuit figures, Asia, Mercury, Neptune, and items representing the wealth and riches of the region. A second cartouche has two distance scales.
Beautiful, early impression with original coloring on a full sheet of thick hand laid paper. A little light surface soiling in sea at right, else fine.
