The Gentleman's Magazine published several versions of Scull and Heap's important map of 1750. This Pre-Revolutionary War issue is the less common edition that contains the table of distances below the cartouche, as opposed to the map published in 1777 (GENT-256). The map holds special value as a historical document because it shows the names of owners of estates and farms outside the city. Includes a Xerox copy of the description of Philadelphia from the 1753 Gentleman's Magazine.

References: Jolly GENT-87.

Several large tears at upper right with one tear clear across map, all with old paper repairs on verso. Close binding trim at lower right, as issued. A map worthy of professional conservation and repair.
