Uncommon and lovely map of the northern and central portion of the continent. The source of the Nile, on the Ptolemaic model, begins from the lakes Zaire and Zaflan, near the Mountains of the Moon. Two decorative cartouches and eight Roman seals at left. Nicolas Blankaart was a professor at Leiden who created maps for Jansson. It was published in Jansson's atlases including the Novus Atlas and Accuratissima Orbis Antiqui Delineation.
