A fine detailed map of the province of Shansi in north central China, south west of Beijing. The maps from Du Halde atlas were assembled by D'Anville and compiled from an extensive Jesuit survey carried out in 1717. The missionaries used local sources and personal observation to prepare these incredibly detailed maps.
