A stunning large-scale map of the Asian continent extending through the Indian Ocean, Southeast Asia and Australia. Coronelli's map was very advanced for its day with information from the extensive geographical activities of the Jesuits, which are acknowledged in a large cartouche on the left sheet. Notable are the detailed coastlines of Australia, Tasmania and part of New Zealand reflecting Abel Tasman's important discoveries.

References: Clancy #6.22; Tooley (MCC-23) #54, plt. XXIII; Yeo #73.

Fine impression with lovely later color. The two sheets have been expertly joined with margin extended at left to better accommodate framing.
