Very uncommon and detailed map of the northern part of Portugal, boldly engraved to show topography, cities and villages. A huge explanation cartouche formed from a shell held by mermaids fills the Atlantic.
Map has been laid down in the past with adhesive residue on verso. Original color, slightly faded with some uneven toning. Bottom fold separation closed with archival tape. Printed on thick sound paper.
