A uncommon and nicely detailed map of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and the important fishing banks. The Atlas Universel contained 400 lithographed maps in 6 volumes. It was the first atlas to present all the maps on the same scale (about 1 inch to 26 miles) and it was the first atlas to employ the new printing method of lithography. There was only one edition and the subscription list shows that 810 copies were sold.
