Nice detail with legend along top border indicating the Resolution and Discovery came across the uninhabited island in 1777. Cook discovered the island on Dec. 24th and named it Christmas Island. He stayed until Jan. 1778. North is oriented to the left. Christmas Island is one of the Line Islands; now part of Kiribati, it is today called Kiritimati.
