Handsome map of the Persian Empire fully engraved with mountains, rivers and place names. The map is richly embellished with a title cartouche surmounted by three Persian gentlemen and a ship sailing in the Indian Ocean. The dedication cartouche (to Simon van Hoorn) is complete with a coat of arms indicating this is the third state of the plate.

Near fine with beautiful color. Light damp stains and minor fold repair in bottom margin, well away from map.
