Very decorative map of French Flanders in what is now southern Belgium and northern France. The map is centered on Lille and includes Le Bassee, Douay, Tournay and Courtray. The map is a masterpiece of the engraver's art, and is notable for its elaborate heraldic decorative elements that fill three corners and finely engraved title and scale cartouches. German text on verso.
Couple of very minor spots along centerfold. Margins trimmed, but still more than adequate for framing. Couple of wormholes and repaired tears in blank margins, not affecting map.
