This interesting lithograph is a caricaturized depiction of Stuyvesant's arrival in New York. The army is shown in a humorous long parade of servicemen in traditional costume approaching the city walls. From a drawing by William Heath. Tinted lithograph by Sarony & Major, published in Diedrich Knickerbocker’s history of the Dutch in of New York.
