"[Lot of 2] Comparative Size of Lakes and Islands [with] Mountains and Rivers", Johnson
Subject: Cartographic Miscellany
Period: 1855-63 (circa)
Color: Hand Color
Comparative Size of Lakes and Islands by J.H. Colton, 1855 and published by Johnson & Browning, circa 1860 is a nice sheet (16 x 13") with four maps enclosed in a scroll border each depicting lakes or islands in both hemispheres. Mountains & Rivers by Johnson and Ward, circa 1863 is an interesting comparative chart (23.7 x 16.5") presented with the mountains and volcanoes at right and the rivers at left. Major world cities are shown scattered across the mountains at their appropriate elevations.
First very good, second with margins chipped and a couple of tiny spots.
