A beautiful engraving of a large pair of globes on ornate rococo-style bases. The Globe Terrestre is centered on the Eastern Hemisphere. The Globe Celeste is showing the sky with Ursa Major, Leo, Virgo, etc. The map (10 x 8.7") with text panels at both sides is surrounded by elaborate borders that include scenes of putti, globes, instruments, etc.
Nice impression with fine original coloring. A little scattered toning and creased along centerfold. Old paper repair in lower margin.
