This is the early example map with Arizona engraved in an arc in the newly formed territory. Arizona still occupies the southern tip of Nevada and has the county configurations of the old New Mexico Territory. The Utah/Nevada border is at 115° longitude. Details the U.S. Mail routes, the proposed railroad route through Utah and California, and the Pony Express trail. Numerous notations of gold mines, Indian tribes, trails and more.
