A fine set of steel engraved maps issued to provide the emerging knowledge of the interior desert regions of northern Africa. The Society for the Diffusion of Useful Knowledge produced some of the most detailed and respected maps of the mid-nineteenth century. They are filled with fascinating information. Included in the set are North Africa or Barbary I - Marocco; North Africa or Barbary II - Algier; North Africa or Barbary III - Tunis and part of Tripoli; North Africa or Barbary IV - Tripoli; North Africa or Barbary V - Parts of Tripoli and Egypt; and Egypt.
