Following the French Revolution the country was divided into 89 departments and the ancient Province of Bretagne (Brittany) was split into five departments; Finistere, Cotes du Nord, Ille et Villaine, Loire Inferieure and Morbihan. These maps have the common theme of the sea illustrated in the vignettes as well as Breton dress, prehistoric monuments, flora and fauna, etc. An attractive and historical set.
