Lovely map of the region of present-day Syria and Iraq. The map is beautifully engraved to show all the major ancient sites in the region including fortresses and battlefields. Inset of the Garden of Eden. The large (uncolored) title cartouche incorporates a scene of the building of the Tower of Babel. Various types of Roman coins are included at top left..
