Impressive large double hemisphere in Delisle's crisp elegant style. The title cartouche is centered on the French royal coat of arms and allegorical female representations of the four continents. Another cartouche contains Delisle's imprint with his address at Quay de l'Horloge. The map is up-to-date with the most recent exploration routes noted. The Pacific Northwest coast of North America is left blank above Cap Blanc. Australia and New Zealand are only partially mapped.
Fine impression and attractive color. Close side margins, as issued. Repair of centerfold with a couple of lines of facsimile in lower cartouche, none of which is distracting from this lovely map.
