Fine example of this early geological atlas. Contains 24 color lithographed maps, sections, and profiles including 6 double-page maps providing details of the geology of Yellowstone issued by the United States Geological Survey under the direction of Arnold Hague. Maps lithographed by Julius Bien & Co. of New York. Large folio, hardbound in brown cloth with gilt title.

Covers rubbed with a couple of small tears on blank endpapers, repaired with archival tape. Maps all fine and bright.
