Large and very early Ptolemaic map of northern Africa extending from the Atlantic to the Arabian Sea. Good detail along the Nile with many place names. Extends south to below the Tropic of Cancer and to the Aharrag Mountains, here the Azar Mons. Filled with place names and named islands along the Mediterranean coast. Crisp impression on a large sheet of thick, vellum-like paper with wide margins and very nice dollar-sized watermarks. Soft crease down centerfold, a little scattered soiling, small chip at top center, else very good.
