Finely engraved plan of the city and fort of Malacca. The Portuguese captured this important port on Malaysia's west coast in 1511 and built an immense fort, which in turn was captured by the Dutch in 1641. The plan depicts this fort, the quay, the town and the Dutch, English and Chinese bazaars.
