Four related canal plans detail the large effort being made to expand the network of navigable canals throughout England. Set includes "A General Plan of the several Canals, given in the Course of this Magazine" (8 x 6.8", Jolly GENT-225, dated 1773), "A Plan of the Canal from the Trent to the Severn" (11 x 6.3", GENT- 212, dated 1771), "A Plan of the Navigable Canal, now making from Chesterfield, in the County of Derby, to the River Trent near Stockwith…" (11.9 x 6.6", GENT-252, dated 1772) and "A Plan of the Grand Canal from the Trent to the Mersey" (15 x 7.8", GENT-211, 1771).
