Superb, decorative map of the continent dominated by a huge cartouche showing Christ on the cross with the natives of South America at its base. The locations of missions are shown throughout. The map is further embellished with a ship and numerous fanciful sea monsters. This is a very beautiful map and a graphic record of the spread of Christianity in the New World.
