"La France Divisee par Generalitez",
Period: 1700 (circa)
Color: Hand Color
35.2 x 26.2 inches
89.4 x 66.5 cm
Two sheets joined to make up this unusual map. It is a copper engraving in full original color with an engraved distance scale cartouche in the upper right corner. In the lower left section is a manuscript title block and table of electoral divisions and states. These are keyed in red ink by use of numbers or letters to the map and the major cities are underlined in the same manuscript red ink. The map was folded like a pocket map, although it appears to not have been originally issued as such. A tiny separation on the bottom fold and one on a fold intersection, else clean and bright.
