Fascinating folio sheet with French text, two maps and four views. Carte du Mexique shows Central Mexico and the Environs du Lac de Mexique features the vicinity of Mexico City with its islands in the lake connected by bridges. The four views include a panorama of Mexico City, one of the large Aztec Temple, and two showing various ceremonies including human sacrifice. All are surrounded by descriptions in French.

Condition: A

A sharp impression on a bright sheet with a Strasbourg bend & lily watermark. There are about a dozen tiny wormholes in the image that have been archivally repaired, with minute loss of image. There is marginal soiling and several additional wormholes in the blank margins that have also been repaired.
