This busy post-war Mississippi River scene shows a long line of steamboats tied up to the levee to receive goods and passengers. Among their destinations are St. Louis, Cairo, and the Red River. The landing is crowded with cotton bales, black workers, merchants, and travelers. Engraved by John Karst after Alfred R. Waud, both of whom are credited in the bottom corners of the engraved image.

A nice impression, issued folding, with a couple tiny edge tears that just enter engraving at left and minor extraneous creasing along two folds.
