This fine title page is from part two of Jansson's magnificent atlas that covered the Netherlands, France and Spain. Seventeen of armorial shields of Dutch provinces are depicted at the top held aloft by two fierce lions. This is the second state, with a man in armor and a woman holding the coat of arms of Holland replacing portraits of King Philip IV and the Prince of Orange. The Dutch title was pasted onto the engraved architectural framework, as was customary with title pages.

A nice impression with light soiling and several small chips and tears along the edges of the sheet that have been professionally repaired. Left margin is narrow, as issued, but ample for framing.
