This handsome three-volume set from Time-Life Books is a densely packed and thoroughly illustrated look at the Civil War. The first volume (319 pages) provides an overview of the small arms, uniforms, equipment, music, flags, and artillery of the Union; the second volume (312 pages) covers the same, except for the Confederate side. The final volume (320 pages) is an illustrated atlas that maps the various theaters of the war. Edited by Henry Woodhead. Illustrated with countless images in black & white and color. Hardbound with gilt titles on the maroon faux leather spines. Includes the publisher's glossy cardboard slipcase.
