Engraved in Herman Moll's unmistakable style, this charming and uncommon map shows the extent of the Patriarchate of Alexandria in Roman times. It stretches from Berenice (Benghazi) to the Red Sea. Most of the detail is concentrated around the Nile River, but there are several lakes and mountain ranges depicted. Published in the first volume of Joseph Bingham's history of the early church.
