This handsome plan of Vienna and its surrounding suburbs appeared in the French translation of Johann Kaspar Riesbeck's Briefe eines Reisenden Franzosen uber Deutschland. There is excellent detail of the city's fortifications. A key at bottom identifies 45 places of interest, including the imperial palace (today known as the Hofburg), Belvedere Palace, theaters, arsenals, gardens, colleges, and more. The plan is oriented with the north to the left.
