This small pictorial map features Disney characters in little vignettes representative of each state including Mickey Mouse mining in Nevada, Goofy cutting hay in North Dakota, and Donald Duck rushing to fix an oil gusher in Oklahoma. Names and locates state capitals with a summary table at bottom. Hornsby notes that as early as the 1930's, Walt Disney "“recognized the importance of pictorial maps in advertising his cartoon characters.”

The map was issued to accompany a pencil set complete with paper, ruler, protractor, colored pencils, and replacement lead. The map is housed in its own compartment in the box's lower shelf with the other pieces on the top shelf. The exterior of the box contains additional cartoon illustrations on top and bottom.

Condition: B+

The folding map is very good with a hint of toning and a few faint spots. The pencil box has some light wear and scuffs, but is in good working condition.
