This map details the Gulf Coast of Costa Rica and Nicaragua, extending south to Bocas del Torro in Panama. Rivers, points, and lagoons are identified along the coast, with a land approach view of the area around Bluefields filling the blank interior. The waters are filled with anchorages, soundings, rocks, and shoals, and numerous small keys are named. A dotted line demarcates the area for which soundings are regular. Engraved by John Lodge and published on August 31, 1785 by J. Murray. This map is very rarely found on the market.
