This rare sea chart depicts the passages between Hispaniola, Cuba, Jamaica, and several other small surrounding islands. Only a few place names are noted along the coasts. The Tropic of Cancer is marked prominently on the map, which is embellished with a large compass rose orienting north to the left and a title cartouche flanked by a European and two native figures.
Printed on heavy paper with two fleur-de-lis watermarks. There is light soiling and toning that is more prominent along the edges of the sheet. A centerfold separation that enters 1" into image at bottom has been closed on verso with archival material.
