This atlas includes 12 celestial charts with accompanying explanations on how to use the stars to determine longitude and latitude to aid in sea navigation. The atlas was written by Henry Brooke, a mariner and teacher of mathematics, geography and astronomy. 4to. pp: xi, 101, 12 planispheres. Hardbound with brown paper covered boards and brown cloth spine.

Condition: B+

Condition code is for the plates and text, which are clean and bright with minor offsetting, soiling and occasional foxing. The covers are detached and heavily soiled and the spine is perished. The covers are enclosed in a clear mylar dust jacket, which helps to hold the book together.
