This is a fine map of northern Italy centered on the dramatic fortress of Mantua. The map is beautifully engraved with unusual graphic depictions of the grain fields for which the Duchy of Mantua was renowned. The map is graced with two elegant cartouches. Latin text on verso.

Condition: B+

A crisp impression with attractive color, wide margins, and very light toning. Centerfold separations at top and bottom have been professionally repaired. Remnants of hinge tape on verso.
