"Daniae Regni Typus [on sheet with] Cimbricae Chersonesi nunc Iutiae Descriptio, Auctore Marco Iordano", Ortelius, Abraham

This sheet includes two spectacularly engraved maps of Denmark, first issued in 1595. The maps are filled with place names but with limited watershed and topographical information. The seas are fully engraved in stipple and embellishments include a sea monster, a large sailing ship and several strapwork cartouches. The right-hand map has delicate filigree border surrounds. Spanish text on verso, published between 1609-41.

A dark impression on watermarked paper with a couple of minor spots and an old paper repair confined to the right blank margin. Grid lines have been added in manuscript on the left-hand map.
