This attractive map of South Holland includes miniature bird's-eye plans of Dordrecht, Gouda, Gorkum and Bommel to name a few. Numerous other towns, churches, roads, rivers and marshes are depicted. Two small sailing ships and a 32-point compass rose decorate De Biesbosch, a large freshwater tidal wetland. Completed by a strapwork title cartouche and distance scale. Latin text on verso, published between 1640-1655.

Condition: B+

A dark impression on watermarked paper with a few stains at far right and light soiling in the blank margins. A short centerfold separation confined to the bottom blank margin has been closed with archival material.
