Nice copper engraving illustrating the Dutch fleet capturing the fort at the entrance to the Baia de Todos os Santos, in northeastern Brazil. The scene is very active with billowing cannons and tiny figures rushing to action. Large inset plan of the bay is depicted in a scroll above the scene.

A crisp impression on watermarked paper with attractive color, a few tiny paper flaws, and a small hole at top left that has been professionally infilled. Issued folding, now pressed with a binding trim at top left that has been replaced with old paper.
