A bird's-eye view of the fort (present-day Natal) at the mouth of the Rio Potengi showing the Dutch invasion and capture of the Portuguese fort in 1633. The harbor is filled with ships and armies are shown rushing to defend the fort.

A crisp impression on watermarked paper with attractive color and a few tiny paper flaws. Issued folding, now pressed with the margin extended at top and top left to accommodate framing.
