This charming view shows the Cerro de Potosi, a mountain containing large amounts of silver and around which the city of Potosi was built. Miniature miners appear along the side of the mountain, with a church and several rows of buildings below. The majority of the maps for Bertius' geographical treatise were engraved by Jodocus Hondius Jr. after Mercator. French text on verso.
