Charming little map of the island. The interior is filled with anthill style mountains and the stippled engraved sea is teeming with sea monsters, mermaids and ships. It is further embellished with a title cartouche and a compass rose. Finely engraved by Girolamo Porro of Padua. On a full sheet of Italian text (7.3 x 10.9") that includes a historiated initial and a banner.

A dark impression on watermarked paper with attractive color. Remnants of hinge tape on verso.
