An interesting sheet composed of 14 vignettes showing the native Virginians that the first European explorers encountered in the New World, taken from Theodore de Bry's influential work. Included are ceremonial dances, burial practices, farming, hunting, villages, costumes, etc. Each engraving is accompanied by an explanation in French text.

Condition: B+

Wide margins on watermarked paper. There are a few minute holes in text. A centerfold separation and short tear at bottom have both been repaired with archival materials.
