This rare chart is based on the work of the Italian astronomer Francesco Brunacci. The constellations are presented in their allegorical form and include the new ones from Keyser and Houtman in the southern sky. The sun and moon are tucked into the cusps of the hemispheres with Saturn, Jupiter, Mars and Venus depicted in the corners. At bottom a panel of Italian text contains Brunacci's description of the celestial chart.


Condition: B+

Nice impression with old color. There is some soil and foxing, mostly in the margins. A little roughness along paper edges.
