A stunning map of the Persian empire based on Ortelius' map of the same title. The map is centered on Persia, and it also shows present-day Iraq and Afghanistan, and the Indus River. It is filled with scores of place names, details of the Persian Gulf, and graphic detail of the topography and cities. A pair of strapwork cartouches embellish the map. Latin text on verso.
