This schematic plan of Jerusalem, drawn by Johannes Heinrich Coccejus, is based on the scriptures and the story of Joseph. The entire wall around the city is shown, with the several gates. However, within the walls only a few important sites are shown such as Solomon's Temple, Fort Antonia, the Palace of Queen Helena and Herod's Palace. Outside the walls, Golgotha, the compounds of Pompejus and the Assyrians, and the Mount of Olives are depicted. A key at bottom identifies the important sites on the map.
