Handsome map of the area between Germany and Russia, and from the Baltic to the Black Sea. The large decorative title cartouche contains the coat of arms of William, Duke of Gloucester. Wells was a professor at Oxford and his maps were highly regarded for their accuracy and crisp clean style. Engraved by Benjamin Cole.
