"State of Idaho", General Land Office

This interesting and highly detailed map focuses on the state's early power utilities, but it also depicts the progressive ideals of Idaho's land preservation efforts. Nearly the entire central district is dedicated to numerous National Forest land that is now designated wilderness. The legend identifies the state's major power companies, including the Thousand Springs Power Co., and the Washington Water Power Co. The Montana Power Co.'s Transmission Line is shown from Thompson Falls to Wallace. Several Indian Reservations and state game preserves are located, as are some well known mining towns (now ghost towns) including Rocky Bar, Atlanta, Idaho City, Pioneerville, Gilmore, Bonanza Custer, and many more.
